Make a "single layer" spindle that can be used to process 16mm and Super8 with just a spiral and a top part. This can use the existing spacers and will be something like the top of the spindle with the threading of the bottom part. Make sure that the threaded part can be re-enforced because of its likelihood of snapping from perpendicular forces.
